ABANA Conference 2002 Japanese Bladesmiths
Steps in traditional Japanese Bladesmithing : Many people want to make "traditional" Japanese blades. However the Japanese smith starts by making his own steel. If you don't start there, then it is not "traditional".
	Japanese Forge: This small site built forge is similar to the bladesmiths forge I've described numerous times. Two parallel walls, blast from the side, open top. This one has a partialy closed back. I suggest loose bricks to make the back depth adjustable.
	Japanese Furnace I don't have a clue about this one. . .
	Japanese Smith scraping a blade. The Japanese use hand scrapers rather than grinding to shape and finiish their blades.
